260 Half Hard Brass Adhesive Backed Shim Stock Flat Sheets
(64) Each piece has a 3M adhesive peel off backing that keeps shim in place.Brass 260 Half Hard Shim Stock is the most ductile of the brasses and is used in greater quantity than any other copper-zinc alloy. This alloy offers low magnetic permeability and is used in applications where corrosion problems exist. Brass 260 can be blanked, stamped, or lightly drawn due to its superb forming qualities. This Brass forms a natural thin protective layer and will not corrode when exposed to the environment. Brass 260 should not be used in projects where it will come into contact with acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, or ammonia. Due to the high zinc contact, it shouldn’t be soldered.

301 Half Hard Stainless Steel Adhesive Backed Shim Stock Flat Sheets
(94)301 Half Hard Shim Stock is an austenitic stainless steel with a composition of 17% chromium and 7% nickel. Its combination of hardness and toughness, resistance to atmosphere corrosion and its bright surface finish make it an excellent choice for anything from aerospace applications to decorative structural components. 301 Half Hard Stainless Steel is resistant to a variety of corrosive media. However, the corrosion properties are not as good as 302/304 (18-8 chromium-nickel) stainless steel. Its susceptibility to carbide precipitation during welding restricts its use in some applications.

316 Full Hard Stainless Steel Adhesive Backed Shim Stock Flat Sheets
(16) Each piece has 3M adhesive peel off backing that keeps the shim in place.316 Annealed Stainless Steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing molybdenum which increases general corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. This austenitic class contains the most formable, weldable, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel grades, but they cannot be heat treated. Properties are similar to those of Type 304 except that this alloy is somewhat stronger at elevated temperatures. Corrosion resistance is improved, particularly against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic, and tartaric acids; acid sulfates, and alkaline chlorides. Type 316L is an extra-low carbon version of Type 316 that minimizes harmful carbide precipitation due to welding assuring optimum corrosion resistance.

Precision 510 Phosphor Bronze Shim Stock Rolls for High-Performance Needs
510 Bronze Shim Stock Rolls deliver dependable precision for manufacturing teams that prioritize accuracy and repeatability. This phosphor bronze alloy combines copper, tin and phosphorus to create a material that resists wear and fatigue even in high-stress environments. It’s trusted by machinists and engineers who need precision shims capable of maintaining tight tolerances under pressure.
The alloy’s high fatigue resistance, spring temper and corrosion protection make it an ideal fit for industrial equipment, metalworking tools and electrical systems that depend on consistent performance. Compared to steel or aluminum shims, bronze shim stock offers a non-magnetic, low-friction surface that maintains stability and conductivity without oxidizing quickly, making it suitable for electrical, automotive and aerospace fabrication.
Formats and Specifications of 510 Shim Stock Rolls
Trinity Brand manufactures and supplies bronze shim stock rolls in multiple formats for both small-scale fabrication and high-volume industrial production. Available thicknesses range from .005″ to .040″, providing flexibility for applications requiring fine adjustment or robust structural support. Roll widths start at six inches, while standard lengths extend from 50 to 100 inches, offering material efficiency for cutting or punching. Each roll can be customized to specific dimensions or tolerances to meet design requirements.
Engineers often select roll length and bronze thickness based on application type, considering that thinner shims allow for minute calibration while thicker materials support mechanical stability. Trinity Brand’s bronze shim stock specifications meet ASTM B103/B103M standards, guaranteeing consistency in industrial shims across sectors. For customers managing frequent prototyping or production runs, the availability of certified, traceable inventory helps make sure that every piece meets critical quality metrics.
Applications of 510 Phosphor Bronze Shim Stock Rolls
510 phosphor bronze stands out for its versatility across industries that demand high fatigue strength and resistance to wear. These bronze shim stock rolls are widely used in motors, switches, gaskets, bearings and precision tools that require stability under vibration or heat. In machining bronze environments, they offer predictable behavior during cutting and forming, helping maintain equipment calibration and extending tool life. They’re also used in industrial bronze solutions where conductive, yet corrosion-resistant materials are needed, such as electrical contacts, connectors and pressure-sensitive assemblies.
For custom bronze shims used in prototyping or high-end fabrication, this material allows manufacturers to achieve tight fits and low deflection rates. Its balance of hardness and ductility supports reliability across electronic, marine and defense applications where minor variations can affect long-term performance.
